Mexico Wants Chinese Dealer from US

Mexico, Jul 24 (Prensa Latina) The detention in the US of Chinese-born
tycoon Zhenli Ye Gon tops the main news Tuesday in Mexico, which wants
his possible extradition for organized crime charges.

The Attorney General's Office of the Republic (PGR) informed Zhenli,
from whom was seized 205 million dollars in one his Mexican houses in
March, was arrested in US territory and will now face trial to
extradite him to Mexico.

The case of the Chinese drug dealer has caused a huge scandal in the
country, after he revealed he had links with the ruling party and top
representatives of the current administration, the real owners of the
money, he said.

Mexican authorities accuse Zhenli of organized crime, possession of
firearms and cartridges reserved to the Army, and crimes against health.

PGR president Eduardo Medina told local press the Mexican government
will have 60 days to carefully present an extradition request after his
arrest is officially announced by Washington.
