Oil Can Help Angola Diversify Economy

Luanda, Sep 3 (Prensa Latina) Angolan Joao Cabolo, SADC undersecretary
(Southern Africa Development Community) asserted on Monday that his
nation's oil could help diversify the economy and consolidate other
sectors like agriculture and construction.

On addressing experts from Brazil, Canada, the UK, South Africa and
Zambia at the ninth conference of the Eduardo dos Santos Foundation, he
said while oil cannot meet all the labor needs of the country, it could
help create, diversify and consolidate other sectors.

Cabolo also noted the large domestic water reserve which potential
could help meet local electricity needs as well as be exported.

Africa's largest rivers are located in the center and south of the
continent and Angola has a privileged geographic location.

The Foundation is a non governmental organization that backs social
projects and this ninth edition focuses on energy, income, income
source and economic development.
