APEC Summit Ends in Sydney with no Bush

Sydney, Sep 9 (Prensa Latina) Without the presence of President George
W. Bush, who left early, the 21 member nations of the Asia-Pacific
Economic Cooperation Forum concluded their Annual Summit in this
capital on Sunday. 

A call to resume Doha Round talks in order to recover the Development
Agenda proposed by the World Trade Organization, and a no-binding
agreement on climate change were the main topics for discussion at the
meeting.

A separate declaration apart from the final document of the meeting,
emphasized "APEC´s strong support to Doha Round," and urged nations
involved in the process to resume efforts to complete it making
emphasis in the agricultural and industrial products. 

The APEC representatives also signed the Joint Declaration on Climate
Change, Energy Security, and Clean Development. 

This organization is formed by Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, China,
South Korea, The United States, Philippines, Hong Kong, Indonesia,
Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Papua-New Guinea, Peru, Russia,
Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan and Vietnam.
