Members of International Solidarity Brigade Arrive in Cuba

Havana, Oct 1 (acn) As part of the activities to commemorate the 40th 
anniversary of the assassination of Commander Ernesto Che Guevara in 
Bolivia, the Cuban Friendship Institute (ICAP) has organized an 
international brigade that will stay in Cuba during the first two weeks 
of October.

The more than 200 brigade members from 33 countries are staying the 
Julio Antonio Mella International Camp in the municipality of Caimito 
in Habana province.

The first members of the brigade arrived on Saturday from Lebanon, 
Brazil, Japan, Turkey, Ireland, Spain, South Korea, Colombia, Great 
Britain, Ecuador, Honduras and Israel.

Their program includes voluntary work as well as visits to places of 
social, cultural and historic interest in the provinces of Havana, 
Villa Clara and Sancti Spiritus.

They will also participate in all the activities scheduled on the 
island to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Guevara's assassination 
and will learn more about the case of the five Cuban anti-terrorist 
fighters unjustly imprisoned in the United States.

Other brigade members will soon arrive from Switzerland, Germany, 
Austria, Portugal, Argentina, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Canada, United 
States, Iran, Chile, Venezuela, Italy and Mexico, among other countries.
