U.S. troops' "mistaken" fire kills 2, wounds 3 other Afghans

KABUL, Oct. 6 (Xinhua) -- U.S. troops based in Afghanistan's
eastern Kunar province opened fire on a civilian vehicle Saturday
morning, killing two persons, spokesman of provincial government
Zarghon Shah Khaliqyar said.

"The U.S. troops mistakenly opened fire on a local car in Manogai
district at around 8: 00 a.m. local time this morning, leaving two
civilians dead and injuring three others," Khaliqyar told Xinhua.

He did not give more details.

The U.S. military officials were not immediately available to make
comment.
