Evo Morales Praises Example of Ernesto Che Guevara

Havana, Oct 9 (acn) "The ideals and actions of Commander Ernesto 
Guevara are examples for those who defend equality and justice," said 
Bolivian President Evo Morales in his closing speech of the main rally 
to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the death of the revolutionary 
leader held on Monday in Valle Grande, Bolivia.

"We are humanists and followers of the example of Guevara," he added 
and noted that honesty and transparency are the best tribute to the 
Cuban-Argentinean guerrilla.

Morales urged everyone to fight for equality and dignity and for all 
the causes and ideals for which Che Guevara fought.

The Bolivian leader also praised Commander in Chief Fidel Castro for 
his valuable lessons, and Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, for 
supporting the revolutionary processes of the continent.

Morales stressed that his government advocates a new Constitution that 
does not allow any US military base in Bolivian soil and rejected the 
existence of this kind of US facilities in Latin America.

The Cuban delegation to the activities to commemorate the anniversary 
of Guevara's assassination in Bolivia is headed by General Rogelio 
Acevedo and also includes Leonardo Tamayo Nuñez 'Urbano', one of the 
survivors of Che Guevara's guerrilla in Bolivia.
