Over 2,000 People Died During Arrests in US

Washington, Oct 12 (Prensa Latina) More than 2,000 people died in the
United States during arrests from 2003 to 2005, the Justice Department
said on Thursday.

According to the report, 80 percent of 1,095 people killed by police
officers were armed.

The document says that 12 percent of the total died of alcohol or drug
overdose.

The report adds that 11 percent committed suicide, 7 percent were
killed in accidents and 5 percent died of diseases or natural causes.

During the said period, security agencies made more than 41,000 arrests.
That number excludes people arrested for traffic violations.
