China Reports Hundreds of Billions in Trade Surplus

Beijing, Oct 12 (Prensa Latina) China's trade surplus between January
and September this year totalled 185.65 billion dollars, 8 billion
dollars over the total figure in 2006, an official source affirmed
Friday.

The General Customs Administration informed the September excess stood
at 23.91 billion dollars, a 56.3 percent increase compared to the same
month last year.

Exports in the first nine months of 2007 rose by 27.1 percent over the
same span in 2006, totalling 878.24 billion dollars. In the meantime,
imports increased by 19.1 percent, equivalent to 692.56 billion dollars.

China's foreign trade volume is expected to amount to two trillion
dollars, thus surpassing the 1.76 trillion registered in 2006, the
source added.
