Accords Penned by Cuba and Equatorial Guinea

Havana, Oct 19 (acn) Cuba and Equatorial Guinea signed new agreements 
today to expand bilateral relations in sectors such as healthcare, the 
use of renewable energies, and special education.

Technical protection of a laboratory to control and prevent cholera, 
technical assistance in the start-up of a psychiatric hospital and a 
center to treat children in the African country were committed to by 
Cuba.

An accord signed between Cuba's Institute of Radio and Television 
(ICRT) and Equatorial Guinea's Ministry of Information, Culture and 
Tourism, pledged technical assistance from the Caribbean island to the 
Guinean Radio and Television Institute.

The agreements by the two governments were signed during the last day 
of the seventh session of the Joint Commission, which concluded Friday 
in Havana.

Marta Lomas, Cuba's minister for Foreign Investment and Economic
Collaboration executed the documents for the island, while Equatorial 
Guinea's secretary of State for International Cooperation, Victoriana 
Nchama Nsue Okomo, signed the documents on behalf of her nation.

The commission ratified the existing 19 collaboration programs, which 
includes a healthcare effort being implemented by 160 Cuban medical 
specialists serving in Guinea, and the fight against malaria through 
rodent control in cities.
