Nearly 40 per cent of Cubans Voted in the First Two Hours

Havana, Oct 21(acn) Two hours after the opening of the voting stations, 
36.88 per cent of Cubans had cast their votes, announced the National 
Electoral Commission (CNE).

According to the report, by nine in the morning nearly 3.1 million 
voters, out of the 8.3 millions listed, had balloted for their 
candidates for delegates to the Popular Power municipal assemblies.

Heading the elections were Las Tunas and Granma eastern provinces, with 
47 and 46 per cent attendance respectively.
