* Norma Becker Memorial - Nov. 3, 2007 - New York *

If you were one of those opposing the Civil Defense drills in New
York City in the early sixties . . .

If you were one of those who risked their lives in the South during
the Civil Rights struggle . . .

If you were one of those who joined the Fifth Ave. Peace Parade
Committee to begin mass mobilization against the Vietnam War . . .

If you were one of those who rallied at the United Nations in support
of the Special Sessions on Disarmament in 1978 and 1982 (in 1982
there were a million of you, so you were probably there) . . .

If you were one of those fighting nuclear power after the disaster of
Three Mile Island . . .

If you were on of those who finally questioned the rigid US policy in
the Middle East which always favored Israel and ignored the suffering
of the Palestinians . . . If you were one of those who helped
organize for economic justice . . .

If you are one of those who felt that the Cuban Revolution had a
right to succeed without US intervention...

Then you surely met Norma Becker and worked with her. Norma, for
years the crucial chair of War Resisters League, the formidable force
behind the Mobilization for Survival, the founder of the Fifth Avenue
Peace Parade Committee. She changed our lives and helped change our
world.

On Saturday, November 3, from 3 to 6 p.m., there will be a Memorial
for Norma, who died on June 17, 2007.

Join us to meet old friends of the struggles past, and the struggles
that continue.

The Memorial is being held at PS 234, "Independence School" in
Tribeca, Manhattan, at the corner of Greenwich and Warren Street.

People are coming from elsewhere in the US to be here.

Join us.
