Pakistan's Bhutto Calls for World Help

Islamabad, Oct 21 (Prensa Latina) Former Pakistani Minister Benazir
Bhutto called on the international community for help in the inquiry
into the assassination attempt on her, which left 139 dead and over 500
wounded.

"We want the Islamabad government to look for international experts´
support in attacks of this nature," Bhutto told press in her first
public appearance Sunday since a deadly bomb attack on her homecoming
convoy on Thursday.

The former head of government, 54, visited bomb blast victims at Jinna
hospital in Karachi under strict security measures, and vowed that the
assassination attempt would not force her into hiding.

The Pakistan People's Party declared a national day of mourning Sunday
for victims of the attack, in which a grenade explosion was followed by
a suicide bomber who blew himself up with a device laden with shrapnel.

Many of Bhutto's guards were also killed in the attack.

Bhutto, who served twice as prime minister and is Pakistan's main
opposition leader, left in 1999 to avoid arrest in corruption cases.
