Cuba-Bolivia Joint Resolution Ends First Intergovernmental Commission
Havana, Nov 9(acn) Cuban Parliament President Ricardo Alarcon and
Bolivian Senator Santos Javier Tito Veliz signed a joint resolution
this Friday at the closing session of the first Cuba- Bolivia
Intergovernmental Commission.
The document denounces the US economic, financial and commercial
blockade of Cuba, highlighting its extraterritorial nature and the fact
that the UN General Assembly has condemned it sixteen consecutive times.
The joint declaration will further facilitate the application of the
Bolivarian Alternative for the Americas (ALBA), and the Trade Treaty
subscribed between Bolivia, Venezuela, Nicaragua and Cuba.
The document states that Cuba supports Bolivia in its demand for an
access to the sea, a historical right and much needeed for its
development.
Senator Tito Veliz presented Ricardo Alarcon with two resolutions
passed by the Bolivian congress, one condemning the freed afforded
notorious terrorist Luis Posada Carriles by the US and a second
demanding the freedom of the five Cuban antiterrorist fighters unjustly
held in US jails since 1998.
