Cuban Doctors Help Flood Victims in Mexico

Havana, Nov 15 (acn) A team of 55 Cuban doctors are assisting victims
in the southern state of Tabasco, in Mexico, which was recently hit by
the worst flooding in the history of that central american nation.

The local press reported on Wednesday that the physicians arrived in
Tabasco with authorization from the Mexican government and brought two
tons of medicines with them.

According to the head of the Cuban medical brigade, Dr. Jose Maria
Leyva, the doctors are seeing one thousand people and providing some
two thousand vaccines per day.

The island's physicians, who have previously assisted flood victims in
Belize and Nicaragua, are supporting the work of the Mexican Health
Ministry's brigades in the disaster area.
