Congressman Dennis Kucinich is polling fourth or fifth in all of the
polls for the Democratic presidential nomination. Two of the other top
five candidates have recently held events in Charlottesville, Senators
Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. Kucinich's message is likely to
differ dramatically from those of his two rivals.

Central Virginia, home to Thomas Jefferson, James Monroe, and the
father of our Constitution, James Madison, will welcome a candidate who
is making defense of the Constitution a central theme in his campaign.
Kucinich favors ending the funding of the occupation of Iraq,
preventing an aggressive war on Iran, and impeaching Vice President
Cheney and President Bush. (With the exception of Senator Joe Biden
who supports impeachment after an attack on Iran, Kucinich is he only
candidate with this position.)

Kucinich, alone among the candidates, would shift our priorities and
resources in a major way from war to peace. He would cut Pentagon
spending in order to invest in jobs, in green energy, and in education,
including publicly funded college tuition. Kucinich alone would create
single-payer health coverage. Kucinich alone would end NAFTA.
