Dominican Human Losses Grow from Olga

Santo Domingo, Dec 13 (Prensa Latina) The number of deaths from

strong rains still persist in some places.

The highest number of fatal victims was registered in the province of
Santiago, the second most important in the country, where 17 deaths

plants scattered on the streets offered a desolate landscape.

most recent report by the National Emergency Commission.

Evacuation was still proceeding in zones near the Yaque del Norte River,
which flooded and seriously damaged Santiago.

The same source said that 29 of the 31 provinces of the country are
still on red alert, and five reservoirs went over their security limit.

Tropical Storm Olga went exited the national territory of the Dominican
Republic but the National Emergency Commission said rains would persist
between 24 and 36 hours in the northeast, north, northwest, southwest
