Varied Program of Activities to Mark Anniversary of Cuban Revolution

Havana, Dec 18 (acn) A varied program of activities will be carried out 
in the 169 municipalities of the country from December 26th to January 
1st to celebrate the 49th anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban 
Revolution.

The announcement was made on Monday by Joel Queipo, member of the 
National Bureau of the Young Communist League (UJC), who added that the 
activities will be aimed mainly at youths and children who will enjoy 
concerts, movies, book fairs, circus performances, etc.

In a press conference on Monday, Queipo added that the festivities will 
conclude on Januery 1st with the traditional concerts and performances 
by the best orchestras and groups of the country who will play in many 
plazas and parks across the island.

The celebrations will also include photo and painting exhibitions, 
performances by dancing companies, and colloquiums with actors.

On Friday, December 28th, 23rd Street the Vedado neighborhood in 
Havana will host an event called "All Music in 23rd" in which groups of 
traditional music, jazz, rock, hip hop, rap and fusion will perform.

Culture Deputy Minister Fernando Rojas added that the program will be 
completed by the activities organized by the provinces in accordance 
with their interests.
