Argentina Upset over US Actions

Buenos Aires, Dec 19 (Prensa Latina) Argentina was very upset over US
actions, which it says are an offense for the country, media reported
Wednesday.

Foreign Minister Jorge Taiana expressed his country's position to US
ambassador to Argentina, Earl Anthony Wayne, whom he summoned to the
Foreign Affairs Ministry Tuesday night, after returning from the
Mercosur Summit in Montevideo, local press stated.

Taiana said in a 40-minute hearing that his country is surprise and
unjustly offended, as to investigations from the Miami justice on the
case of Venezuelan-US citizen Guido Antonini Wilson.

According to sources, the foreign minister pointed out that for
Argentina, "the idea that the presidential campaign would have been
financed through procedures of that nature has no support," alluding to
$800,000 confiscated from that person here in August.

According to reports from Miami, that money appears to have been
destined to the electoral campaign of the then candidate and current
President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner.

Spokespeople from the Foreign Affairs Ministry cited by several media
indicate that Taiana passed to Wayne "his people's displeasure and
uneasiness faced with the US government's attitude as to the case."

They also stated that the US government must undertake the necessary
actions to concrete the extradition of Antonini Wilson immediately
required by the Argentinean justice after the incident occurred in an
airport in Buenos Aires.
