New Sugarcane Harvesting Machine made in Cuba

Havana, Dec 24(acn) The new model of sugar harvesting machine KTP 3000 
S, manufactured in the eastern province of Holguin, will be in use 
during the 2007-8 harvest season.

The KTP 3000 updates previous models KTP 3600 and KTP 4000 made in the 
same factory "60 Aniversario de la Revolucion de Octubre". The machine 
can cut 45tons of sugar cane per hour, 85 per cent of the operating 
system is hydraulic, and the cabin is air-conditioned.

Some 20 harvesting machines models KTP 3600 and KTP 4000 are being 
manufactured for domestic use and for export. According to the factory 
director Reynaldo Jaramillo, "each machine saves the country some 
90,000 Cuban convertible pesos (cuc)".

According to the Ahora digital newspaper, the first four KTP 3000 
machines will be tested soon.
